9 places to eat in Lund

By now you will all know where you are going and when, so I am here to give you a little PRACTICAL advice and tips. The first part of this is, obviously, going to be food.

FOOD. MMMMMM. And you know what, Sweden doesn’t do a bad job at doing food stuff. Although Lund is a small town, there are plenty of choices when it comes to eating out.

So I have selected 10 places you can visit if you’re feeling like a evening out with friends, a quick lunch with some classmates, or you just need someone to prepare you a meal because it’s the best thing ever and why not treat yo self.

This map shows you where everything is, and below this is a list of the places with a couple of comments, price ranges, etc.

  1. Inkognitohttps://www.instagram.com/p/BDnDFZYPXow/?taken-by=inkognitobistrocafe

This wonderful café can seem very small from the outside, but that is just the place where you order the food. You then follow a stair case up to the floor above, which is a gorgeous space. There are huge windows, cosy corners and just an all round stylish feel. Everything is cooked on the spot and fresh, and there are cakes to die for.

Recommended for: Lunch dates, cosy cuppa or a couple of hours in a *true* Scandi café.

    Price range: $$

  2. Govindashttps://www.instagram.com/p/BB5HsE3wia3/?taken-at=18036582

This place is the perfect student restaurant! They only open during the week, and make one meal and serve in a sort of cafeteria style. The great thing is that they do the MOST AMAZING FOOD, it’s suuuuper cheap and it’s vegan! So if you’re vegetarian/vegan, this place is perfect for you!

Recommended for: Vegan feasts, a healthy day or just a fun lunch with some friends.

    Price range: $

  3. M.E.A.T.https://www.instagram.com/p/9_XycWs_MH/?taken-by=meat_lund

If you’re not feeling the vegan vibe, I recommend you go to this place. As it says in the name, they’re all about meat. It’s the most expensive place on the list but totally worth every penny.

Recommended for: Having cocktails (seriously, they have so many nice ones) and celebrating something nice. Or just having a good ol’ steak.

    Price range: $$$

  4. VEDhttps://www.instagram.com/p/5rva5AuMT2/?taken-at=246323525

This place was found completely by accident, but it was the happiest of accidents. VED does some super nice pizzas and more, at some really great prices! They order pizza out if you’re feeling like a ~fancy~ pizza night.

Recommended for: Dates, late lunches and cravings.

    Price range: $$

  5. Africa Daily Markethttps://www.instagram.com/p/BBMuitIrNe5/?taken-by=africadailymarket

This amazing place doesn’t look like a cafe from the outside, but venture inside and take a look! There are things for sale everywhere, and they make their food there everyday (and as you can see in the picture, they also make hot sauce!). The food is absolutely incredible and comes at a really good price! The staff are extremely friendly, and opened recently, so if you’re coming to Lund don’t hesitate to pop by for food and a warm cup of mint and ginger tea.

Recommended for: Lunch with so much more!

    Price range: $

  6. Lunda FalafelCheck me out: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lundafalafel/165983193459471?fref=ts
This place was hard to find any pictures of on Insta, but there isn’t a single student at Lund University that doesn’t know about this place. 35 Kr for a falafel (~£3, which is CHEAP here), and they’re really amazing!

Recommended for: Cheeky kebab after a night out, basically.

    Price range: $

  7. Coffee Breakhttps://www.instagram.com/p/BDLAQTGh2On/?taken-at=217489136

Custom sandwiches/baked potatoes with great options and great prices: you got it. This place is the best for a lazy late lunch and has some cosy areas to have a nice chat with friends. You order at the register, and the food is quickly served to your table with a smile.

Recommended for: Lazy lunches and cute coffee.

    Price range: $$

  8. Pattiseriethttps://www.instagram.com/p/BBZ8d4nN_8d/?taken-by=patisserietlund

Out of the two bakeries on my list, this is the one I have been to the most, mostly because it has a lot more space and is never usually as packed as the one below. I have to say the quality of the pastries here is good, but having worked in a bakery myself, I can see that it’s not fantastic. I would give this place 3/5 stars if I rated it, but it’s a nice place nonetheless, with some nice things to eat and some cosy places to sit in.

Recommended for: Coffee, tea and pastries/cake in a central location.

    Price range: $$

  9. St Jacobs Bakarihttps://www.instagram.com/p/BCubmD9kkxR/?taken-at=148846

Now THIS is a bakery. The pastries are so incredible, the seating area is super cosy and it has just a general nice vibe. I would recommend this place to anyone, but it’s a tricky place in terms of timing. I have been there too often when it’s been so jam packed that there’s no place to sit. However, find a nice sunny day and get some pastries and a coffee to go to eat in the sun. You won’t regret it!

    Price range: $$
